Michael Lafferty Original Poems
“Lighted Green”
The green leaves sparkled,They dappled my sense of security; They hung in jaded dancing fashion!Speaking to my soul in many, many, shades of Lighted Green!

“Waking Again”
And it was a time of reflection, war, peace, spring time, snow and of course love!Feeling eager myself to laugh,to dance, grasping every opportune moment to sing freely my song of laughter! And this time the stolid portense of reality, brushing, bruising to the joint;intensely painful sometimes.Escaping as the cloudy midnight opens to a starry, starry heaven that seems to dance and glitter just for me!Waking again to breathe deeply to all that I can accept, to all that is I am!

“Whispering Sighs”
I could not think to ask too much. The years had grown to bless her touch.Flying off to sojourn there, the day the movement stopped! The day the crunching noise became apparent. The day I heard her sigh. The day she held her hand in mine.Flying off to sojourn there, tender for a while! The day she held me in her arms.I looked into her eyes.I saw that she was somewhere else.Flying off to sojourn there, whispering to her sighs!
